Scene 1: Bad Guy 1 (BG1) exits a store with three coffees.

Camera tracks him exiting and then around the car as he prepares to get in.  Camera drops down to center on the interior of the car as he sits, revealing that they have Good Guy (GG) as a hostage.  Bad Guy 2 (BG2) is bored, holding a pistol at the base of GG's neck.

(offering a coffee to GG)
Coffee?

*No response - GG gives him a contemptuous look*

(to BG2)
What about you?

BG2
Later...
He's holding a gun and doesn't want to deal with a hot cup of coffee at the same time.
BG1 shrugs and takes a precise sip of his coffee.

TITLE CREDITS - THE HIJACK

BG1
(to GG)
When you're ready...
*Another withering glance - GG starts the car and begins to drive*

TITLE CREDITS CLOSE

Cut scene: driving - Make this quick!

Scene 2:  Car Interior - they are on their way
BG1 and GG are facing forward out of the windshield - not looking at each other.  Besides the gun, they might be commuting to work together as they did for many years.
(10 seconds - BG2 is bored and looking elsewhere)

GG
Where did you get him?

BG1 looks a bit puzzled - what a silly question...

BG1
Oh...He had a gun...

GG laughs silently - he can't believe the answer was this dumb. - 7 count

GG
The old man would really be disappointed in you.

BG1
(BG1 shrugs and looks out the window)
C'est la vie ... Consider it my severance for 5 years of work.

GG
(agitated)
Don't you care?

BG1
(looks back)
About what?

GG
(agitated)
This is going to put Ann and the kids into bankruptcy.  They were relying on the sale to pay off some bills.

BG1
Well that is unfortunate ... I wonder what it's like.  No wait, I don't.  I've been bankrupt.
(looks out the window)
They'll deal.

(Backstory: BG1 had some serious debt coming from gambling and criminal activity (Ebay Fraud).  While the 'Old Man' helped keep him out of jail, he didn't help with BG1's financial difficulties.  BG1 had been resentful of this.)

You were always angry about that ... I told you that he did what he could, he wasn't going to write you a check and get you out of -

BG1
(breaking in - talking as if to a child)
Ah ah ah ah ... I'm not going to get into that.
(BG2 gestures with the gun for emphasis)
What is this, a movie?  Save the speeches.

GG
I swear you're gonna pay for this...

BG1
Again, with the unnecessary conversation...who's holding a gun on who, here?
(beat while GG considers his situation) - 1 count
You seem to be confused as to how this is going.  Me have gun - me in charge.

GG
You don't have the gun, he does.

BG1
You're absolutely right...
(to BG2)
William, gun please...
(William passes the pistol to BG1 and produces another that he resumes holding on GG - there are now two guns pointed at GG.  - 2 count BG1 is pissed at the pettiness of GG and gives him an authoritative *bonk* on the temple with pistol.)

GG
(reacting...this hurts)
Ow!

BG1
Anything else you'd like to contribute?  Shut up and drive.

Scene 3 - Interior of Office Where 'Item' is Stored
(Tight hand-held camera work as we move through the office)  BG1 and BG2 are moving GG through the office to where the 'item' is stored.

BG1
Quickly, quickly...

ALARM SHOT: shot on alarm, to GG - we see him silently trying to figure out how to throw it and alert the cops.  BG1 sees him thinking and smiles.

BG1
Now, now...
(starts moving GG away from alarm)
Let's part as friends.

CABINET / OFFICE SHOT: Cabinet or office opens - 'Item' is inside.  Door opens on GG, BG1 and BG2 looking inside.  GG is resigned, just conducting everyone around.  BG1 cracks a big huge smile when he sees the item.

BG1
Well, now that is a thing of beauty.

GG
Are we done here?

BG1
Patience...patience... William, go get the car.

CAR LOADING SHOT: BG1 helps BG2 load the item, one-handed while holding the gun.
CAR LOADING SHOT2 - CAMERA ZOOMED ON TRUNK, AS IT SLAMS SHUT GG IS REVEALED.

(Music starts fading in)

GG
You know...I really thought you were smarter than this.

BG1
(grins)
Sour grapes, babe.
(turns and leaves with BG2)

GG watches BG1 and BG2 get in the car and roll away - leaving him standing there alone in the office.  We then zoom in for the final punchline.

GG
I thought you were smart enough to see I was giving you the demo model.

Final cut scene - silent.  BG1 is looking over the 'item' and suddenly realizing that it doesn't work.  You can see him screaming "no, NO NOOO!" before the camera cuts to dark.
